ScRouNGe – Prequel to the Sequel (2014–2018) The Lost Years. The Missing Chapters. The Beginning of the Story.
Before SssidewinderssS...
Before Deliberately Dumbfounded...
Before The Belief Machine...
There was ScRouNGe.
Prequel to the Sequel (2014–2018) opens the vault on years of unreleased productions created between Ableton Live 8 and Ableton Live 10.
More than a double album, it's a musical autobiography—a time capsule documenting my evolution from a metal guitarist and frontman with The Glassbowl Holocaust into an electronic music producer, songwriter, sound designer, and independent creative entrepreneur.
These recordings were never meant to stay buried forever.
For years, dozens of songs lived across forgotten hard drives, aging laptops, unfinished sessions, abandoned websites, and backup folders—what I jokingly call "The Land Where Deleted Files Go."
Some tracks have been completely remastered.
Others remain exactly as they were born—raw, imperfect, and honest.
Every song represents a chapter of my life.
A different apartment.
A different job.
A different relationship.
A different struggle.
A different dream.
Growing up in poverty, music became my escape long before it became a career goal.
While life demanded survival, music became the constant.
Something I created after long workdays.
During difficult seasons.
Through years when making the next song always seemed more important than releasing the last one.
Rather than chasing trends or waiting for perfection...
I just kept creating.
The result became an archive that quietly grew while life kept moving forward.
Now, at forty years old, my perspective has changed.
"I spent years wondering if my music was good enough to release. Eventually I realized I wasn't making music to impress anybody. I make it because I love making it. If nobody ever hears it, I'll still listen to it on the drive to work. If someone else connects with it too, that's a bonus. This is for the sake of art."
Prequel to the Sequel bridges the gap between my earliest years and everything that followed.
Beginning in 2019, nearly all of my creative energy shifted toward building the world of SssidewinderssS, culminating in the release of Deliberately Dumbfounded (2024) with my older brother, Fully Auto Flaco.
That album closed one chapter.
The next chapter is The Belief Machine.
Where Prequel to the Sequel explores my personal history, The Belief Machine expands into a concept album examining how stories, myths, media, institutions, and inherited narratives can shape perception and influence the way people understand the world. Through symbolism, science fiction, satire, philosophy, and psychological storytelling, the project invites listeners to question assumptions and think critically about the narratives that shape human experience.
Together, these releases tell one continuous story.
